Testimonials

“Your painting is so vibrant, it shimmers with light and life and just about leaps off the wall! The textures give it so much depth and make it change with light. Your use of colour is stiking and evocative...
Something about it goes straight to my heart."

Meet The Artist

Juliet De Valter

Welcome to my world of Australian Aboriginal fine oil paintings

I am Juliet De Valter, a proud Kalkadoon Kalkatungu woman.

I was born in Mount Isa, the native land of my tribe and now I currently reside in sunny Townsville, NQ; land of the Wugurukaba of Gurambilbarra and Yunbenun, Bindal, Gugu Badhun, and Nywaigi peoples

For me, art is more than just colours on a canvas; it's a profound connection to my roots, a way to share my stories, and a means of preserving our rich cultural heritage.

The Power of Storytelling

Every brushstroke on the canvas carries a piece of history, a tale, or a connection to my ancestors.

Through my art, I aim to share the spirit of our land, the beauty of our traditions, and the resilience of our people. Each painting is a story waiting to be told, a conversation between the canvas and the viewer.

Bridging Worlds

As a contemporary First Nations artist, I strive to bridge the gap between the ancient and the modern. To honour the past, while embracing the present and, having hope for the future.

My paintings are a reflection of this delicate balance, capturing the essence of our culture while offering a glimpse into the ever-evolving world of Australian First Nations Art.
